Laser Skin Rejuvenation

Laser Skin Rejuvenation — All-in-One Anti-Aging Tool

Healthy skincare begins with the basic steps: a cleanser, moisturizer/treatment products and sunscreen. These products are essential in keeping the skin looking clean and vibrant, but can’t repair past damage or deep wrinkles if they are severe. Those who want a more refined skincare routine, should seek advanced options with an aesthetic physician. Lasers can also be a first procedure option for those interested. Call now!

How does laser skin rejuvenation work?

Belleza Medspa has a Q-Switch laser that uses a precise wavelength of light energy to target beneath the skin, deeper than any lotion can ever work, to stimulate collage production at its source. Collagen provides an essential support network for the skin which makes skin look younger. Collagen decreases with age and sun exposure resulting in lines and wrinkle. Sun and normal aging cause pigmented brown or black spot, uneven tone, and rough/leathery textured skin.

During treatment, the Q-Switch laser passes a gentle beam of light through the upper layer of skin. The specific wavelength selected is dependent upon the skin concern you are treating. For example, for fine lines and wrinkles, the heat stimulates collagen growth deep beneath the skin. As new collagen is generated, lines and wrinkles are reduced. Studies indicate laser therapy helps create a refreshed appearance, smoother textures, even skin tone, and decreased pore size. The effects will continue even after treatment. The difference can be seen once the fine lines are filled in with new collagen. For pigmented lesions, the laser breaks up and re-absorbs the pigments into the skin and scab thus lightening and eliminating the pigmented areas.

Which laser is right for me?

Many lasers used for skin rejuvenation are non-ablative, meaning they do not damage the skin’s surface. The most popular non-ablative lasers like the Revlite Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser uses PhotoAcoustic energy to vibrate and re-organize the collagen scaffolding — gently and effectively stimulating long-term collagen remodeling. Other lasers are ablative and use thermal energy to wound the top layer of the skin. These aggressive lasers treat deep wrinkles and advanced photo damage, requiring several days or weeks of downtime. Non-ablative laser treatments that use PhotoAcoustic energy are quick (about 30 minutes for a full face) and require no downtime. There is minimal discomfort and a low risk of complications. Patients will feel a difference immediately and experience progressive improvement over time.

What areas can be treated with Laser Skin Rejuvenation?

The Revlite Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser is so multi-functional it can be used all over the body depending on the concern.

What does the laser therapy feel like?

Laser Skin Rejuvenation feels warm on the skin before and after treatment, this feeling normally disappears after a couple of hours.

Are there any side effects of Laser Skin Rejuvenation?

Laser Skin Rejuvenation procedure is non-invasive and so gentle that there is little recovery time needed. There may be some short-term blushing in the treated areas immediately after treatment. Many people describe the feeling of laser skin rejuvenation as a tingling sensation. It is best to avoid strong sunlight during the period of treatment and use a SPF50 if you expect to be out in the sun. You can return to work on the same day!

How many laser treatments will I need?

Laser skin rejuvenation is a gradual process. You need six to twelve treatments spaced two to five weeks apart. Patients choose to return for regular treatments to maintain great results.

What can I expect after the treatment?

Laser skin rejuvenation may cause a mild to moderate redness, which fades an hour after treatment. We suggest the use of our post treatment kit for three to five days after your laser skin rejuvenation treatment.

Can I have laser therapy in combination with dermal fillers, neurotoxins or surgery?

Yes — many physicians combine laser therapy with other antiaging tools to customize treatment for the needs of each patient. Revlite Q-Switched Nd:YAG features an advanced PTP setting (PhotoAcoustic Technology Pulse) that safely and gently penetrates the skin to stimulate new collagen. The result is a smoother texture, smaller pores, and a reduction in wrinkles and acne scars.
